Thelma Marie (Lynch) Piper

Thelma Marie (Lynch) Piper, 80, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Thelma was born, August 15, 1944 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and LaVerne (Poehler) Lynch. She married Thomas E. Piper on July 5, 1980, and he survives.

Thelma was a factory worker from age 16 until she retired. She enjoyed gardening and crafts.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Piper of Olney, IL; granddaughter, Nicole Marie Fore, her pride and joy, daughter, Brinley and Nicole's mother, Denise Judge; Step Daughters, Kelly (David) Harris, and Dana (Pat) Volk; five brothers, Larry Poehler, Leroy (Glenda) Lynch, Fred Lynch, Robert Lynch, Jr., and Willie (Josephine) Lynch; three sisters, Loretta Lynch, Lucille (Richard) Huber, and Lillie (Larry) Dilley; Nieces, Sarah Poehler, Rebecca Lynch, Tammy Lynch, Kimberly (Jason) Holstrum, Dana (Devon) Jenner, Jennifer (Nathan) Painter, and Kloe Jenner; nephews, Rodney (Sheri) Johnson, Ronnie (Emily) Lynch, Bryon Lynch, Jason (Lessabith) Lynch, Jeremy Lynch, Justin Lynch, Joseph (Angela) Lynch, Mike (Carie) Lynch, Christopher (Katie) Harmon, Chad Harmon. and Konner Jenner; nineteen great nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Dusty (Delorse) Johnson, Jessica Senger, Savannah Hopwood; step great-grandchildren: Jazzmyn and Olivia Johnson, Urijah and Jael Senger, Terry and Abagail Totten, Sheldon Hopwood, and Elizabeth Cook; and a lot of her great neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dale Edward Fore, Jr., and sister, Janet K. Lynch; sister-in-laws, Barb Lynch, Linda Poehler, and Sonia Lynch, parents, Robert and LaVern Lynch, grandparents, Fred and Maria Poehler, and Jacob and Elizabeth Lynch.

Cremation Rites were accorded.

A graveside service will be held for both Thelma and her son, Dale Edward Fore, Jr. at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney.
