Sue Lynn (Hasslinger) Rohr

Sue Lynn (Hasslinger) Rohr, 81, of Olney, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

Sue was born June 6, 1943 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Glenn Hasslinger and Ferne E. (Faris) Hasslinger.

Sue first started work as a telephone operator and later began her 40-year housekeeping career at Richland Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong member of (United Brethren) Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney, where she was baptized early in life. Sue was active in the church, and taught Sunday School and helped with the children's programs. She was also very active in the Wednesday afternoon ladies' fellowship group. Sue lived a Christian life and was a good example for many. She was very faithful about studying her Bible. Sue loved to read and do word-search puzzles. She was also a people person, and she loved to visit with anyone she came across. Sue loved her family and friends near and far, and she will be dearly missed by those that knew her.

Sue is survived by her son, John of Olney; cousins, Lon (Tonya) Smith of Robinson, IL, Branden (Angie) Smith of Robinson, Tony (Charissa) Smith of Robinson, IL, James (Cindy) McGookey of Huntingburg, IN, Robert (Beth) McGookey of Washington, IN, Diane Beeker of Cincinnati, OH, Marilyn (Alan) Thompson of Tower Hill, IL, and other various cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Janet Elaine; two special aunts, Florene Smith and Elizabeth (Hasslinger) Bailey, and several uncles and cousins.

A visitation will be held for friends and family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

The funeral service will be held for Sue at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2025 at the funeral home.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Interment will follow at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.
