Steven Wayne Patterson

Steven W. Patterson, 63, of Olney, IL, passed away December 17, 2024, in Urbana, IL.

Steven W. Patterson was born on September 23, 1961 in Fairfield, IL to parents, Robert Patterson and Wanda Jean Patterson (Daniels).

Steve was the son of a United Methodist minister and often moved every three years. He graduated high school from Grafton, IL and enlisted in the US Navy and served 20 years as a chef. Upon retiring from the military, in 2000, he moved to be closer to his family roots in Richland County.

Steve held jobs as a chef at the Olde Tyme Steakhause for many years and then he worked at the St. Albans Country Club in St. Albans, MO. He was a member of the Olney Elks, VFW, and Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Steve was a talented piano player and often played at Ebenezer and Calhoun United Methodist Church.

Steve enjoyed traveling, trying new recipes, playing music, and spending as much time as he could with his grandkids.

Steve is survived by son, Robert Patterson and wife, Allison, of Fairview Heights, IL; grandchildren, Cooper and Cera Patterson; brother, Robert Glenn Patterson; stepmother, Marie Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Scott Patterson; and sister-in-law, Barbara S. Patterson.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.

Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 PM following the Visitation with Full Military Rites performed at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Wells Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Wounded Warriors or Folds of Honor.
