Shirley Ann Runyon

Shirley A. Runyon, 80, of Olney, IL passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

Shirley was born February 8, 1945 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Wildon and Mary Lou (Burton) Harris. She married George Runyon on April 20, 1963, and he survives.

Shirley had a passion for yardwork and landscaping. She also enjoyed doing puzzles and quilting. Shirley loved cooking and enjoyed hosting the family for holiday gatherings. She had a special relationship with her dog and cat, Annie May and Tabbie. Shirley will be dearly missed.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 years, George "Pud" Runyon of Olney; daughter, Linda Runyon of Olney; daughter, Marjorie Probst and husband Jeff of Newton; son, Mark Runyon and wife Marsha of Olney; grandchildren, Josh (Melissa) Prosser, Cory (Mallory) Shamhart, Kearstin (Ryan) Mefford, Taylor (Brandon Barbee) Probst, Janson Probst, Ashley (Brandon) Gibbs, Brooke (Clay) Bickers, Trystin (Taylor) Runyon, and Chance Runyon; great grandchildren, Ruby Prosser, Landry Shamhart, Kamdyn and Mia Mefford, Brennan Probst, Rory Runyon, Addison Lin, Jordan Bickers, Presley Gibbs, Penelope Bickers, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wildon and Mary Lou Harris and brother, Thomas Harris.

A funeral service will be held for Shirley at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
