Sharon K. Gerber

Sharon K. Gerber, 75, of Olney, IL, passed away May 9, 2025, at her home in Olney, IL.

Sharon was born on January 1, 1950 in Claremont, IL. Graduated East Richland High School, Class of 1968. She married Ray Gerber on March 10, 1972 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney, IL., he survives.

Sharon cherished her life on the farm with her husband, Ray, where they worked side by side for more than twenty years. She later worked at Walmart for several years and developed a lasting friendship with her coworkers, who remained close to her heart. Sharon never met a stranger – her warmth and kindness left an impression on everyone she met. She especially treasured her weekly lunches and conversations with her high school friends, who were her friends for life.

In her younger years, Sharon was a skilled bowler and an exceptional cook. She and Ray made a great team – whether farming, preparing meals together, or sharing a cup of coffee out on the town. Together, they enjoyed over 53 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Isolene Madden; her brother, Gary Madden; her sister, Roberta “Bertie” Beehn; niece, Connie (Jim) McVicker and her in-laws Loren (Ruth) Gerber, Lucille (Stanley) Kincaid, Arkie Cessna, Alice (Clarence) Fisher, and Leroy Gerber.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Ray Gerber; Nephews Stacy (Julie) Beehn and Brady Beehn, both of Olney; brother-in-law Paul (Betty Lou) Gerber of Sarasota, Florida; sister-in-law, Thelma (Franklin) Schwartz of Olney; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney, IL.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 15th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney, IL.

Interment will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Crest Haven Memorial Park, Claremont, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Mayo Clinic.
