Richard "Rick" Lee Webster, 74, of Olney, IL, formerly of Lawrence County, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on February 25, 2025.
Rick was born August 19, 1950 in Lawrenceville, IL, the son of Harry and Betty (Dempsey) Webster. He married Leslie Stover on June 29, 1985, and she survives.
Rick enjoyed antiquing, going to auctions, attending Frog Follies, working on projects, and restoring antique cars and tractors. He made a living as a carpenter and a truck driver, who also did some farming. He wore many hats and had many skills. He was not afraid to try anything, and he always enjoyed learning something new.
Rick also took pleasure in traveling all around the country. He liked visiting American historical sites and found interest in tracing his own family's genealogy.
Rick and Leslie also had a winter home in Geneva, Al, Rick loved spending the winters in Alabama. He also enjoyed visiting with his wonderful southern neighbors and coffee drinking buddies there.
Rick never met a stranger and had a gift for socializing with people. He will be missed by all those that knew him.
Rick is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Leslie (Stover) Webster of Olney; son, Josh Webster and wife, Jamie, of Bridgeport; daughter, Shelli Nash and husband, Brian, of Vincennes, IN; son, Jesse Webster and significant other, Kourtney Knarian, of Chauncey, IL; grandchildren, Auston, Blake, Alex, Cole (fiancée Kaitlyn), Emma, Ayva, Isabella, Maddie, and Samuel; great grandchild, Weston; sister, Sandy Harrington and husband, Lyman, of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Betty Webster; brothers, Larry, David, and Steve Webster; granddaughter, Kaela Webster.
A funeral service will be held for Rick at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.
Cremation Rites will be accorded after services, and interment will take place at Lawrenceville City Cemetery at a later date.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
