Richard Lee Hoskinson

Richard was born to Marvin A. and Betty M. (Locke) Hoskinson March 5, 1935. He married Donna Faye Long in Shelbina, MO June 1, 1958. He attended Ball Township High School in Chatham, IL and served six years in the Air National Guard in Springfield. Richard was the manager of supermarkets in several cities in Illinois, including Tolly's and Castor's Markets in Sringfield, K-Mart Foods in Bloomington, Big Johns in Carmi, Illinois Super Foods in Mt. Vernon and Jacksonville and Niemans Market in Pittsfield. He worked for a grocery brokerage while living in Effingham, IL. Retirement came after 51 years in some phase of the grocery business. Richard was active in several service organizations in cities where he lived. He enjoyed working with the Mounted Angels, a therapeutic horsemanship organization for disabled cheldren. He was a member of the Christian Church of Olney and served as an elder in the churches he attended in Bloomington, Carmi, Mt. Vernon, Jacksonville, Pittsfield and Effingham. Surviving Richard are his wife, Donna of Olney, Daughter, Jennifer Balding and husband, Michael of Olney, Son, Richard Hoskinson, Jr. of Noblesville, IN, Son, Bill Hoskinson of Olney. Grandchildren, Alec and Erin Balding. Brother, Marvin A. "Tuffy" Hoskinson, Jr. of Chatham, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia "Penny" Beadle of Chatham, IL.
