Neva Straley was born on January 15, 1937 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Lee E. Straley and Jeannette M. (Mitchel). She was a member of the Sailor Springs Christian Church, having served as church treasurer and organist for many years. She had remained a faithful member until she could no longer attend because of illness. Neva was also a member of Happy Helpers, a monthly ladies group. She attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana. She worked at Cities Service in Olney and Evansville for 14 years and AMF in Olney for 12 years. She left work to care for her mother. Neva is survived by her cousins, Donna Herdes of Clay City, Dionne Creamer of Louisville, Darlene Williams of Clay City, David Herdes of Clay City, Nova Boxell of Highland, IL, Beryl Wyatt of Fife Lake, MI, and Nola Leanna of Sahuarita, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her cousins, Doris Smith Gregory, William (Bill) MItchel, Henry Payne, and Chlorus Payne. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
