Nancy (Gasser) Fehrenbacher

Nancy (Gasser) Fehrenbacher, 91, of Olney, IL, passed away peacefully, with her family by her bedside on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at her residence.


Nancy was born at home on October 4, 1933 in Decker, IN, the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Catt) Gasser. She married Sammie Fehrenbacher on August 18, 1957 at Trinity Methodist Church in Vincennes, IN, and he preceded her in death on December 9, 2016.


Nancy believed each day was a gift, routinely offering a smile to anyone she met. She was a positive, caring, and kind individual throughout her life. These characteristics carried over into her profession as a Registered Nurse. She was also very passionate in her faith in God, attending Elm Street Christian Church for many years. Nancy loved the outdoors, she especially enjoyed mowing, gardening, working in her flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels. Most of all, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nancy touched many lives and will be greatly missed by any and all who knew her.


Nancy is survived by her son, Brett Fehrenbacher and wife Bonita of Olney; son, Bart Fehrenbacher of Olney; daughter, Samantha Berger and husband Michael of Olney; 9 grandchildren, Erica (Mark) Sager, Bryce (Shannon) Fehrenbacher, Alyssa (Kyle) Moomaw, Brittany (Trevin) McGrew, Michael Brown, Daylon Fehrenbacher, Barak Berger, Quaid Berger, and Aleine Berger; 10 great-grandchildren, Beckett Sager, August Sager, Murray Sager, Bradley Brown, Maycee Horn, Bayley Horn, Adalynn McGrew, Jameson Brown, Nicco Fehrenbacher, Charles Fehrenbacher, and Knox Moomaw.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Marvin Gasser; sister-in-law, Phyllis Fehrenbacher.


A funeral service will be held for Nancy at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Elm Street Christian Church in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the church.


Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont, IL.


Memorials can be made to Elm Street Christian Church or the Olney Public Library.
