Nancy S. (Bursott) Pitts, 79, of Olney, IL, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Nancy was born February 4, 1946 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Frances (Biedleman) Bursott. She married L. Wayne Pitts on June 1, 1990 in Olney, and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2021.
Nancy always enjoyed spending time with all her children and the grandkids as much as possible. She was a member of the Women's home extension, and her greatest passion was being a member of the Ebenezer church. She would play the piano and sing gospel songs and never missed a Sunday. Nancy was a homemaker for the last several years of her life. She enjoyed living the farm life with her husband Wayne at their home on Elbow Road. Early in her career she was a dispatcher with the Richland County sheriff's department. She was also a bailiff at the Richland County courthouse until she retired.
Nancy is survived by her son, Rodney Goble and companion Renee (Richardson) Johnson of Huntington, IN; son, Jayson Goble of Oblong IL; stepson, Brent Pitts and wife Sheri of Olney IL; stepson, Eric Pitts and wife Babbs of Olney IL; grandchildren, Craig Goble and wife Kari, Andrew Goble and wife Kendra, Erin Goble, Cera Goble, Payslin Goble, Nash Goble, Sutton Goble, Brittany Akers and husband Taylor, Sydney Pitts and companion Jason Shyrock, Hayley Pitts and fiancé Nathan Welch, Clayton Pitts, and Ellison Pitts; great grandchildren, Emma Goble, Fennley Goble, Addie Goble, Aiden Goble, Conner Akers, and Lexie Akers; sister, Doris (Bursott) McGregor; sister, Patsy (Bursott) Nettleton; brother, Doug Bursott.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Pitts; brothers, Richard "Dick" Bursott and Melvin “Junior” Bursott.
The funeral service will be held for Nancy at 11 :30 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in rural Noble, IL.
