Mary Lou Stanley, 94, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Stonebridge Memory Care in Olney.
Mary Lou was born September 21, 1930 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Eugene Weidner and Florence (Marvel) Weidner. She married Jimmie Lee Stanley on July 28, 1949, and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1995.
Mary Lou was a doting wife, supportive mother, and loving grandmother. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a devoted member of the Olney First Methodist Church. Mary Lou dedicated her life to teaching children about Jesus. She taught Sunday School and Junior League at Olney First Methodist Church for 40 years.
Mary Lou will be best remembered for her infectious laugh and her loving heart.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Linda Lou (Stanley) Miller and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Melissa (Miller) Blank and her husband Rodney and Matthew M. Miller and his wife Rachel; great grandchildren, Reece (Jazzmyn Johnson) Blank, Langston (Sierra Evans) Blank, Mallory (Rhett Hancock) Miller, Ryann Klier, and Reyse Klier; great-great grandchild, Maverick Blank.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Nancy Lee Stanley (1/1/1952-1/8/1952).
A funeral service will be held for Mary Lou at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct 30th, 2024 at the Olney First Methodist Church, with the visitation beginning one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be private.
The family requests no flowers due to allergies. Memorials can be made to the Olney First Methodist Church Children's Program Fund.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements.
