Martha Lois Pool

Martha was born in West Salem, IL on July 27, 1926, the daughter of Clinton Lee & Ola (Koertge)Rothrock. She married James Harlan Pool on June 27, 1947 in Morganfield, KY. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1994. She was a school teacher at a rural country school. She worked for many years as a mental health worker in Richland County. Martha retired at age 80 from her position as an elder abuse investigator. Martha was a vital part of the Berryville Community. She was a life-long member of her beloved church, Walnut Grove, Church of the Brethren. She was a 4-H leader and deeply involved with the Berryville Chowder. Martha loved gardening, reading and sewing, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them. She is survived by daughters, Susan Trafton and Phyllis Usher & her husband Kent, Sons, James H. Pool and Michael J. Pool. Also grandchildren, Alisha Duenas & husband Tony, Eric Pool, Andrea Pool, Tara Pool, Michelle Evans & husband Jason, Kyle Usher, Maria Trafton & Julianna Trafton, 8 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Pat Rothrock. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Mark Andrew Pool and 9 brothers & sisters.
