Marilyn Sue Anderson

Marilyn Sue Anderson, 78, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Marilyn was born January 12, 1946 in Claremont, Illinois, the daughter of Ray Isle Simen and Opal Freida (Luthe) Burns.

Marilyn taught grade school in Olney for more than 30 years before retiring early to better enjoy life. She was an avid softball player and bowler. Marilyn will be dearly missed by those that knew her.

Marilyn Sue Anderson is survived by her longtime companion, Mary Boyer of Olney; brother, Loren "Mick" Frederick Simen of Olney; sisters, Gladys Marie Scherer of Olney and Shirley (Rex) Joan Derrow of Auburn, IN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leon "Jack" Leroy Simen, Robert Allen Simen, Albert "Joe" Lee Simen.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on April 17, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Claremont. Interment will immediately follow the service.
