Margaret Fehrenbacher

Margaret Fehrenbacher, 97, of Olney, IL, passed away July 16, 2025 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, IL.

Margaret Fehrenbacher was born August 14, 1927 in Jasper County, IL to parents, Lawrence Gosnell and Ima Vista (Swank) Gosnell. She married Savern John "Steve" Fehrenbacher on November 6, 1948, he preceded her in death on November 26, 1975.

Margaret enjoyed bingo and she loved to read. She was the owner and worked for many years at Steve's Body Shop. Margaret loved chocolate and even more than that she loved her family.

Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary, and the Olney Elks Lodge.

Margaret is survived by her children, Dolores Amerman, Karen (Jim) Scherer, John Fehrenbacher and Joyce Leist; grandchildren, Bridgette (Chad) Harris, Troy (Chris) Kepley, Tanya (Jim) Ginder, Jimi (Mandy) Fehrenbacher, Samuel David Amerman, Lori (Steve Gold) Amerman, J.J. Scherer, Stephen (Morgan) Fehrenbacher, Ryan (Sarah) Fehrenbacher, Brianne Fehrenbacher, Derek (Kate) Leist, Deidre Marie (Dan) Brown; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Bill Gosnell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Steve Fehrenbacher; son, James Fehrenbacher; daughter-in-law, Sandy Fehrenbacher; son-in-law, Sam Amerman; Michael Greenwood; siblings, Helen Gosnell-Galloway, Shirley Gosnell, and Wayne Gosnell.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Cremation Rites will be accorded, and interment will take place at 11:00 AM on July 25, 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Olney.
