Loren "Sonny" Sheets, Jr.

Loren "Sonny" Sheets, 83, of Olney, IL, passed away April 16, 2025 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, IL.

Loren "Sonny" was born October 25, 1941 in Olney, IL to parents, Loren and Nelda (White) Sheets.

Sonny married Elaine Bullard on September 17, 1961 in Cisne, IL, she survives along with daughters, Tracy (Mark) Magness and Kim (Nate deceased) Suddeth. Grandchildren, Matthew Magness, Christopher Suddeth, and Ksenia Suddeth. Sister Sharon Sharp of Hazel Green, Al. and several nieces and nephews.

Sonny was a Tool and Die Engineer and worked for AMF, Johnson Controls, and AO Smith. He retired in 1995 and then decided to start his own machine shop in Olney.

Sonny enjoyed traveling, being outdoors on his tractor and working in his shop. He also enjoyed playing pool, was an avid sports fan and always willing to help others. He never met a stranger.

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers John Sheets and Robert Sheets, and son-in-law Nate Suddeth.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Olney Free Methodist Church in Olney.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Olney Free Methodist Church in Olney.

Interment will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Cisne Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Olney Free Methodist Church or Stand Up to Cancer.
