Leila Mae Runyon

Leila Mae Runyon, 94, of Noble, Illinois passed away on May 19, 2024 at her home in Noble, IL. Leila was born on May 6, 1930, in Wayne County on a farm in Zif Township. the daughter of William Sherman Hubble and Ellen Sophronia (Moseley) Hubble. She was the youngest of 10 children. She married Robert Lee Runyon on December 26, 1947, in Clay City, Illinois. They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary before his passing in 2020.

Leila Mae was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a housewife and bookkeeper for the family farm and oil business and in the earlier days she drove a tractor on the family farm. Leila was a wonderful cook, loved flower gardening, bird watching, and she enjoyed going to quilting classes with her sister-in-law Freda Runyon.

Leila is survived by daughter, Sherry (Rick) Reber of Tampa, FL; daughter, Kathy (Ken)Doty of Noble, IL; daughter, Dana L Simmering of Noble, IL; son, K. Craig (Stephanie)Runyon of Noble, IL and Daughter-in-law, Norma Jean Fletcher of Olney, IL.

Grandchildren, Derek Reber of Tampa, FL; Ethan(Nicole) Reber of Rota, Spain, ; Jared (Jennifer) Reber of Mulberry, FL; Seth (Coleen) Reber of Tampa, FL; Kimberly (Paris Pennington) Doyle of Olney, IL; Kyle (Lyndzie) Doty of Highland, IL; Kory (Kristen) Doty of Effingham, IL; Travis (Tori) Knowlton of Ft. Hood, TX; Daniel Knowlton of Indianapolis, IN; Sydney Simmering of Boonville, IN; Devin (Shelby Hoagland) Runyon of Noble, IL; Cody (Ashley Arnold) of Noble, IL; Brayden Runyon of Noble, IL.

Great Grandchildren: Robert, Brylee and Meredith Reber of Rota, Spain; Jacob, Jocelyn and Julianna Reber of Mulberry, FL; Alyssa Reber of Tampa, FL; Logan, Lexy, and Liam Doyle of Olney, IL; Kynleigh, Kase and Koen Doty of Effingham, IL; Jensen Knowlton, Ft. Hood, TX; Chloe and Rylee Runyon of Noble, IL; and two bonus great grandchildren Paislee and Carson Hoagland of Noble, IL. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Leila was preceded in death by her son, Gary W Runyon of Olney, grandsons, Joshua P Runyon of Noble, IL and Sean Richard Reber of Tampa, FL, her parents Willam Sherman Hubble and Ellen Sophronia (Moseley) Hubble; infant sister Nelda Hubble; Sister, Eileen Bernice Hubble; 7 brothers: Charles, Everett, Clifford, Cloyd Burton, Robert, Leon & Galen Hubble.

A funeral service for Leila will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Kistler Patterson Funeral Home in Olney with a visitation beginning one-hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont, Illinois.
