Judith Ann Zuber

Judith Ann Zuber, 82, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.


Judy was born May 19, 1943 in Stringtown, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Alberta Marie (Schneider) Zuber.


Judy enjoyed woodworking, building many items for her "farm" and her family. She raised chickens for over 25 years, providing her family with fresh eggs and delicious fried chicken. Her great interest in traveling led to many trips with her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews.


"Miss Zuber" inspired young math students, teaching at "Newton Central", "East Jr. High", and "West Jr. High" in Jasper County. She was an early advocate of girls’ athletics, coaching softball and volleyball at East and West in Jasper County.

Judy held memberships or provided leaderships for several organizations, including Business and Professional Women in Newton, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Stringtown Community Club, Jasper County Education Association, St Joseph Stringtown Parish Council.


Judy is survived by her siblings: Jeanette Hahn, William Zuber, Thomas (Karen) Zuber, Mary Zuber, Dorothy (John) Schmoker, Alan (Andrea) Zuber; nieces and nephews: Linda Dickerson, Karen Williams, Jim Volk, Pam Page, Mike Zuber, Lori Shipman, Tony Zuber, Cindy Fritschle, Susan Campbell, Tim Hahn, Scott Hahn, Sandi Hahn, Mike Hahn, Mary Beth Sifferlen, Anne Crites, Sarah Vaal, Bart Zuber, Katie Zuber, Sara Shoop, Gretchen Schmoker, Dan Schmoker, Matt Zuber, and Lauren Stolz.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Edward (Emma) Zuber, Edmund (Veronica) Schneider; siblings: Edwin Zuber, John Zuber; in-laws: Melvin Hahn, Mary Jo Zuber, Kathy Zuber; nieces and nephews: Brad Hahn and Mary Ann Hahn.


Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.


The Rosary will be said at 9:30 AM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, followed by the visitation for friends and family.


The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at the church.


Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.


Memorials can be made to Alberta and Raymond Zuber Future Teachers Scholarship at Eastern Illinois University.
