Jeffrey "Alan" Stout

April 23, 1955 — April 24, 2024

Jeffrey “Alan” Stout passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland at the University of Maryland Medical Center following a brave battle with cancer. He was born April 23, 1955, in Peoria, Illinois to Frank and Jackie Stout. Alan graduated with the Class of 1973 from East Richland High School, Olney, Illinois.

Enjoying most sports while growing up, especially Little League, football, and track, Alan was very proud to play Center with the first NEC Conference Football Champions in the fall of 1972. Music was a great source of contentment for Alan, discovering a great depth to rock music when employed at Whitaker’s record store as a young man. Following completion of the cabinetry degree from Olney Central College, he spent most of his professional career in construction. He moved to Maryland in 1986 where he remained.

Alan relished living in the moment and easily made friends; he was always fun to be around. He loved animals and was dad to several furry family members throughout his life.

In 2014, Alan developed pulmonary fibrosis that progressed rapidly. In November of the same year, he was blessed to receive a lung from a generous donor at the University of Maryland Medical Center. This gift gave Alan over nine years to live and grow with others in Infinite Legacy and Team Maryland where he was also able to happily support their efforts. He paid this life-giving gift forward by donating his corneas for another when he passed.

Alan is survived by his sister Cheryl of Olney, Illinois; brother Barry of Midvale, Utah; Aunt Tyke Fitch of Wilmington, North Carolina; numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.

The family of Jeffrey Alan would like to thank all the wonderful physicians and staff of the University of Maryland Medical Center and Infinite Legacy for caring for him like family since their introduction over nine years ago.

Cremation rites were accorded. A celebration of Jeffrey Alan’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in his honor may be made to:
