Jade Michael Holmes

Jade Michael Holmes, 40, of Sumner, IL, formerly of Petersburg, IN, passed away February 6, 2025 in Olney, IL.

Jade was born May 29, 1984 in Evansville, IN, to father, Jeffery Holmes and his wife, Terri Holmes and mother, Shelly Barrett.

Jade was an avid Auburn Tigers fan, but he especially enjoyed fishing. He could spend all day out at the lake with a pole in his hand.

Jade loved and cared for his family and had a big heart. He always remembered to call people on special occasions, such as holidays and birthdays.

Jade is survived by his father, Jeffery Holmes and wife, Terri, of Petersburg, IN; mother, Shelly Barrett of Spurgeon, IN; sisters, Ashley Holmes and husband, Eliud Colon, and Hazel Uppencamp; nieces, Ella and Ayla Colon; grandparents, Dave and Dorie Holmes, and Bill and Martha Collins; and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Sharon Barrett.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A Memorial Service in honor of Jade will be held at Red Hills State Park at a later date.
