Gregory Max Balding

Gregory Max Balding, 61, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney.

Greg was born January 11, 1964 in Olney, the son of Max and Velda Ruth (Pittman) Balding.

Greg was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved his many cats. He was a collector of everything and was always willing to help anyone. Greg was also a former Exalted Ruler at the Olney Elks Club. He had several jobs, including Futaba in Vincennes and Toyota Boshoku in Lawrenceville, but many would know him from the The Olde Print Shoppe in Olney.

Greg was survived by his siblings, Gloria (Curtis) Schnell, Peggy (Jeff) Runyon, Perry (Donna) Balding, and Gerald (Danielle) Balding; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Kelsey) Runyon, Rachel (Neil) Lortie, Austin (Brandi) Runyon, Brooke (Ben) Russell, Darbye Balding, Lila Balding, Max Balding, Gwen Balding, Addison Balding, and Olivia Balding; great nieces and nephews, Case, Kolton, Oliver, Lionel, Tate, Cyrus, Winifred, Marigold, and Oscar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Abigayle Laurel Balding.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A funeral service will be held for Greg at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Cremation Rites will be accorded after services, and interment will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Moravian Cemetery in West Salem, Illinois.
