George G. Stanley

George Stanley, 86, of Olney passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

George was born on September 2, 1938 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Harold and Alice (Schnautz) Stanley. He married Ramona (Mickey) Stanley, and she preceded him in death.

George worked for UnoCal for 23 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and going to car auctions. George was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He will be missed by many.

George is survived by his son, Lance Stanley and wife, Michele, of Olney; granddaughters, Chelsea Stark and husband, Josh, of Wakefield, IL and Kaylea Dolan and husband, David, of Boone, IA; great grandchildren, Grace and Katelyn Ochs, Sadie, Vance, and Miles Dolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ramona Stanley; brothers, Melvin Stanley and Virgil Stanley; and sisters, Betty Stanley and Norma Murry.

A graveside service will be held for George at Crest Haven Memorial Park in the Hope Chapel at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2024. Please dress casually to the graveside service, Chicago Cubs and Bears attire would be appreciated.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Carle Center for Philanthropy (Richland County Hospice).
