Etta Mae Schrader-Pampe of Herrin, IL formerly of Olney, IL and Parkersburg passed away Sunday, July 31 at 3:25 PM at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin, IL. Etta was born March 20, 1923 in Noble, IL, the daughter of Luther and Caroline (Wynn) Kinkade. On November 24, 1945 she was united in marriage to Russell John Schrader. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1979. She then wed August Pampe on September 12, 1980. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1988. Etta is survived by three daughters, Rita Diffenauer and husband Robert of Energy, IL; Retha Smith of Manchester, MO; Rebecca Stevenson and husband Steve of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren, Robyn Wilson and husband Grant of West Frankfort, IL and Shannon Butts of TN; Step-grandchild, Jeremy Stevenson of Nashville, TN; Great grandchildren, Daphne Wilson and fiance Tyler Privvle, Darlene Wilson, Bob and Rachel Diffenauer, Dalton Butts and step-great grandchild, J.J. Stevenson. Sisters-in-law, Ruby Kinkade of Franklin, IN and Nancy Kinkade of Newburg, IL; Several nieces and nephews. Etta is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Russell Schrader and August Pampe, brothers Clayton, William and Don Kinkade, sister Blanche Stover, son-in-law Charles Smith and grandsons Robert, Christopher and Russell John Diffenauer. Etta is a veteran of the U.S. Women's Army Corp and a Charter Member of the Women's Military Service Memorial Monument in Washington D.C. She is a member of Parkersburg United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, IL and was attending Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort, IL. She had worked at the International Shoe Co. in Olney, IL, Wee Walker Shoe Factory in Carlyle, IL, as a Nurses Aide at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL and Home Health Agency in Nashville, TN. Etta loved to quilt and crochet and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved college basketball. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. A special thanks to all the staff and wonderful caregivers at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center for the friendship, love and wonderful care given to Etta this past year and the friendship extended to her family members.
