Esther E. Mccormick

Esther E. McCormick, 87, of Olney, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 14, 2025 at her home.

Esther was born November 19, 1937 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Evelyn (Brooks) Burgener.

Esther was a devout Christian, and she was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Olney. She was a loving sister and a very special aunt. Esther was also a great caretaker for her mother for a number of years until she passed away in 2004. She enjoyed being outside tending to her yard and reading. She also looked forward to all of the family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by those that knew her.

Esther is survived by her brother, David (Darlene) Burgener of Newton, IL; niece, Beverly (Curt) McCoy of Newton, IL; niece Dianna (Brent) Shull of Dieterich, IL; nephew, Matthew (Stacy) Burgener of Newton, IL; great nieces and nephews, Cody (Dakota) McCoy and Cade (Emma) McCoy, Breanna Shull and Braxton Shull, Lain Burgener, Logan Burgener, and Layla Burgener; great-great nephews, Cohen McCoy and Parker McCoy; aunt, Mary Stewart of Lynden, WA and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held for friends and family from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

The funeral service will begin following the visitation at 1:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025 at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont, IL.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
