Estella Zuber

Estella Zuber, 100, of Olney, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at StoneBridge Memory Care in Olney.

Estella was born February 14, 1925 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Luemma (Lawson) Hare. She married Herman Joseph Zuber on May 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Church in Stringtown, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1996.

Estella is survived by her children, Marti Zuber (Omar) of Houston, TX, Peggy Miller of Selbyville, DE, Rebecca (Jim) Howard of Benton, IL, Herman E. (Susan) Zuber of Olney, and Mary Vanover (Monte) of Lakeland, FL; 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Teresa, grandson, Scott, and great granddaughter, Londyn.

Estella met Herman while both were working at the International Shoe Company in Olney. They were married on May 17, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stringtown, IL. In addition to being a stay-at-home mother, Estella was also an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney, a volunteer in hospice and at Emert Eye Clinic in Vincennes, IN.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney, with a visitation beginning two hours before service time at the church.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.

In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials can be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in Olney.
