Ermal J. Knight

Ermal J. Knight, 93, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Helia Healthcare of Olney.

Ermal was born May 8, 1932 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of James and Ruth (Schoffstall) Bogard. She married Arthur Knight on January 14, 1955, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1995.

Ermal was a loving mother and a hard worker. She loved to make quilts and gave them away to everyone she knew. Parkersburg was her original home, and she loved to attend the annual chowders. She was a current member of the Christian Church of Olney. Ermal will be dearly missed.

Ermal is survived by her daughter, Sarah McKenna of Olney; grandchildren, Michael Shook, Christina Tracy, Amanda Crumpton, Susie Knight, John Knight, Ray Knight, and Jimmie Knight; great grandchildren, Azabhia, Jerry, and Jahaven Crumpton; great-great granddaughter, Savae Crumpton; sisters, Phyllis Coulter of Olney and Mary Powers of Lawrenceville, IL; brother, Robert Bogard of Calhoun, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Raymond and Wayne Knight; granddaughter, Tammy Knight, and several sisters and brothers.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

A funeral service will be held for Ermal at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Ebenezer Cemetery in rural Olney.
