Elinor S. Staser

Elinor S. Staser, 88, of Clay City, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.


Elinor was born on November 24, 1936 in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of George and Helen (Fry) Martin. She married William Staser on April 26, 1959 at the North Harter Christian Church near Flora, and he survives.


Elinor was a seamstress and enjoyed making stained glass art. She played the organ at the Clay City Christian Church for many years, where she also taught Sunday School. Elinor was a good person, and believed there was never a problem that couldn't be solved with love. She will be dearly missed.


Elinor is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill of Clay City; her sons, Scott Staser of Clay City and Chris (Martie) Staser of Victor, NY; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her brother, John Martin and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan Chappel.


A visitation will be held for friends and family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Clay City Christian Church.


Cremation Rites will be accorded after the visitation, and a service will be held at a later date.


Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City has been entrusted with arrangements.


Memorials can be made to Clay City Christian Church Missionary Fund.
