Doris Lucille Blakney

Doris Blakney, 96, of Olney, passed away September 9, 2024 in Olney.

Doris was born October 17, 1927 in Edwards Co., Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Wilson and Alice (Cumre) Wilson.

Doris loved her grandkids and her great grandkids. She was an avid STL Cardinals fan. Doris also liked to quilt and gift her quilts to family members.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Ella Scherer of Saginaw, TX; daughter, Roberta Paul of Brazil, IN; son, Thomas Blakney and wife Jean of Olney; daughter, Patricia Denny of Lake Wales, FL; son, Earl Blakney of Ft. Worth, TX; son, Michael (Julane) Blakney of Katy, TX; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clifton and Dewey Wilson.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation Rites were accorded, and a Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg.
