Donald A. “Don” Kocher of Olney passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at his home.
He was born April 28, 1936, to Omer and Anna (Weiler) Kocher in Stringtown. He married Gertrude Rauch on June 18, 1963, and she survives.
Don was a carpenter for Jim Stivers and Frank Weiler as well as a farmer. He also worked for AMF Roadmaster. He retired from Pacific Cycle on July 4, 2000.
Don is survived by his wife, Gertrude of Olney; Sons, Brian (Reta) Kocher and Warren Kocher (Jodi Ridgely); Daughter, Cheryl Kocher (Pamela Shultz), all of Olney; Grandchildren, Tiffany (Logan) Weems of Olney, Nicole (Tyler) Fitch of Olney, Catherine (Blake) Fritschle of Olney, Serina (Alex) Stratton of KY, Erika Kocher of KY, McKenzie (Zach) Western of Bridgeport, and 11 Great Grandkids; Siblings, Marvenne Wheat of Olney, Angie (Henry) Klingler of Clay City, Elaine Morlan of Albuquerque, NM, Keith (Linda) Kocher of Claremont, Yvonne (Ron) Schneider of Dundas, and Darius (Amber) Kocher of Claremont and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Omer and Anne, 2 brothers: Hilary “Lary” Kocher and Delmar “Del” Kocher; 1 sister: Carleen Carlson; 2 brothers-in-law, Dewey Wheat and Daniel Carlson, and a daughter-in-law, Amy Kocher.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney with Full Military Rites to be performed at the graveside.
