Denny Stevens

Denny Stevens, 71, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024.

Denny was born August 8, 1952 in Olney, the son of Stanley and Ruby (Brust) Stevens. He married Pricilla "Pris" Strzelec on November 24, 1973 in Olney.

Denny retired from ERBA with over 40 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, planting veggies in his garden, old westerns, country music, and playing guitar. Denny also enjoyed deer camp and was a master chili chef. He also was a skilled carpenter and craftsman. He coached Little League, Babe Ruth, and American Legion baseball and softball. When he wasn't coaching, he was an umpire. Denny also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs win and watching the St. Louis Cardinals lose. But more than anything he loved watching his grandkids participate in all of their activities, especially athletics.

Denny is survived by wife of over 50 years, Pricilla Stevens of Olney; son, Rick Stevens and wife Michelle of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Mike Stevens and wife Sarah of Olney; daughter, Melissa Crew and husband Michael of Olney; daughter, Amy Stevens; grandchildren, Grant, Elle, Olivia, Mia, Sophia, and Riley Stevens, and Ruger, Lily, Bella, and Beau Stevens; brother-in-law, Ray Strzelec and wife Kay of Olney; niece, Alison Strzelec and nephew, Nick Strzelec; and grand dogs, Sasha and Rosie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Mendel Stevens, and sister, Brenda Stevens.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

Interment will follow the service at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens in Olney.
