Della D. Thomas, 83, of Clay City, IL, passed away May 14, 2025 at her home.
Della was born November 18, 1941 to parents, Robert Hall and Freda (Gordon) Hall.
Della enjoyed her cats and watching her bird feeder. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Della was known for her chicken and noodles and made them for holidays and special occasions.
Della and her husband were involved with the Baptist church for many decades. They enjoyed singing, playing music, and worshipping the Lord. She was a long-time member of Freedom Baptist Church in Noble.
Della is survived by her husband Jimmie Thomas of Clay City; daughter, Pam Benson of Olney; daughter, Sheila Kapes of Centralia, IL; son, James Thomas and wife Rachel of Olney; son, Doug Thomas of Centralia, IL; grandchildren, JR Jenner, Josh Moseley, Kassidy Kapes, Chandra Martin, Kendal Thomas, Hannah Thomas, Ashley Cannata and Bernadette Kapes; great grandchildren, Collin Moseley, Chandler Thomas, Aurora Moseley, Kayleigh Moseley, Deacan Moseley, Chad Betlach, and Ella Helveston; great-great grandson, Ryker Moseley; sister, Shelby Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Brandon Bickers and Jacob Moseley; and siblings, Jim Hall, Don Hall, Winona Schnell, and Pat Norris.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Clay City Cemetery.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City has been entrusted with arrangements.
