Dallas Stone, 84, of Olney, passed away April 2, 2024 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL.
Dallas was born November 13, 1939 in Lawrence County, Illinois to Clarence Wilson and Ariel Louise (Nestleroad) Stone. He was married to Margaret "Maggie" (O'Neal) on June 27, 1975, and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2016.
Dallas was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting year-round since he was a child. He was also a talented handy-man who helped his brother and sisters in many ways.
He was a devoted husband to Maggie and enjoyed every minute with her. As a father, he was the type of dad that would drop everything to be there for his kids. He also took pleasure in family activities, especially the family reunions.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr.. He was a 58-year member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge, obtaining Third Degree, and served as Master of the Lodge in 1970 and 1973. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was active in the Bridgeport American Legion and served as Past Commander.
Dallas is survived by daughter, Deborah Ham of Las Vegas, NV and her children, Erik, Karen, and Jessica Ham; daughter, Donna Stone of Smithfield, VA; daughter, Dianna MeJean of Las Vegas, NV, and her daughter, Karolyn Campos; daughter, Cathy Dittman and husband Scott of Aurora, IL; son, James M. Miller of Olney; daughter, Ann Parker and husband Darril of Owensville, MO and their children, Kaytee and Daniel Mitchell; great grandchildren; sisters, Lorena (Richard) Kensler, Jayne Rogers, and Evelyn Abernathy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife; and brother, Jim Stone.
Visitation will be held on April 11, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:00 PM that evening. The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on April 12, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.
Interment will take place at Bridgeport City Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
