Connie L. Mcvicker

Connie L. McVicker, 73, of Olney, passed away on April 2, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana.

Connie was born May 17, 1950 in Richland Co., Illinois. Daughter of Arkie Cessna and Alice (Gerber). She married James McVicker on March 20, 1971 in Altamont, IL. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2011.

Connie attended and graduated from Sumner High School in 1968. She was a lifetime member of the VFW in Olney. She served many local organizations including the Olney Little League and the Olney Tiger Boosters. She was also the recipient of the Olney Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year award. She worked at Tom Weber's Law Office as a paralegal for 35 years.

She enjoyed reading, family gatherings, music, and camping. Her grandchildren brought her great joy and she took pleasure in attending all of their activities.

Connie is survived by daughter, Jamie Tyler and husband Jefferson of Olney; son, James L McVicker II and wife Amy of Claremont; son, Jeffery L. McVicker and wife Olivia of Olney; grandchildren, Shaun Hopkins, Jillian Tyler, Amber Tyler, Jacob McVicker, Logan McVicker, Brayden McVicker, Max McVicker, and Ally McVicker; great grandchildren, Ella Davis and Harper Scott; sisters, Janet Snyder and husband Charlie and Nancy Snyder and husband Danny; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney with a visitation two hours before service time at the funeral home.

Memorials can be made to the Olney Volunteer Fire Department or VFW Auxiliary.
