Clota Fay Cantrell, 90, of Olney, IL, passed away July 23, 2025 at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, IL.
Clota Fay Cantrell was born December 8, 1934 in Van, TX to parents, Blaine Williams and Irene (Tate) Williams. She married Eugene "Gene" Franklin Cantrell on August 1, 1959 in Fairfield, IL. Eugene preceded her in death on April 13, 2002.
Clota held many jobs over the years. Clota worked at the International Shoe Factory in Olney for 20 years, helped at Silver Street School, worked as a cook at Olney Care Center for over 20 years, a cashier at Walmart, and babysat her grandchildren following her retirement. She enjoyed attending Olney Southern Baptist Church, cooking for family and friends, traveling with her daughter, watching Westerns and Elvis movies, drinking a cup of Diet Coke or black coffee, and getting a group of friends together to play cards, bingo, or dominos. She began to lose her memory due to dementia in 2017 but never lost her positive and sweet demeanor.
Clota is survived by her daughter, Mandy Piercefield and husband Brad of Olney; grandchildren, Macy Piercefield, Blake Piercefield, and Jordan Piercefield; sister, Sue Lyman and husband Randy; brother, Tony Williams and wife Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; siblings, Wanda, Leon, and Coy.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.
Interment will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney following the Memorial Service.
