Carolyn Sue Hazel

Carolyn Sue Hazel, 84, passed away on September 17, 2024, in Olney, Illinois.

Carolyn was born on September 10, 1940, in Richland Co., Illinois, to Otha and Margaret (Pottoroff) McKinney. She married Jim Hazel on September 21, 1958, at Wakefield, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 2013.

Sue enjoyed quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was a member of the Olney Southern Baptist Church.

Sue is survived by son, James N (Marianne) Hazel, Olney; son, Jeffrey D (Diane) Hazel, Mason, Ohio; and son, Jerry L (Carla) Hazel, Mahomet, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by parents; husband; and sister, Marilyn Jane Toliver.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. The funeral service for Carolyn Sue Hazel will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney. Interment will follow the service at Liberty Cemetery, Newton, Illinois.
