Carl Kocher, 87, of Claremont, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Carl was born May 11, 1938 in Claremont, IL, the son of Cornelius and Dorothy (Zwilling) Kocher. He married Una Marie Uebinger on December 30, 1963 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois, and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2021.
Carl started out as a feed mill laborer and then went to work at Roadmaster Bicycles in Olney, where he retired. Carl also raised cattle on the farm.
Carl enjoyed recreational shooting and was a charter member of a local gun club. He also took pleasure in calling Bingo for many years for the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Carl enjoyed buying and trading old farming implements at auctions.
Carl is survived by his Son, Allen Kocher and Wife, Kathleen of Marseilles, IL; Grandson, Daniel Jacobsen and Marcel Gabitan, Granddaughter-in-Law, Amy Jacobsen; Great Grandchildren, Alex and Jocelyn Jacobsen; Brother, James Kocher and his Wife, Jane, of Olney; Sister, Mary Lou Ochs, of Newton; Sister, Marlene Steber, of Claremont; Sister, Karen Weber of Canton, OH; Sister, Rita Kocher, of Newton, IL; Brother, Fred Kocher and his Wife, Sharon, of Chatham, IL; Brother, Richard Kocher and his Wife, Anita, of Oblong, IL; Sister, Virginia Brooks and her Husband, John, of Savannah, GA; Brother, Luke Kocher and his Wife, Trish, of Sun Prairie, WI; Sister-in-Law, Laura Jean Kocher; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his Wife, Una, his Grandson, Jeremy Jacobsen, and his Brother, Norman Kocher, Brothers-in-Law, Sylvan Ochs, Herman Steber, and Joseph Weber.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service at the church.
Interment will take place at St Joseph Cemetery, Stringtown.
