Albertia D. (Bowers) Potts

Albertia D. (Bowers) Potts was born on May 27, 1916 in Auglaize,Ohio, the daughter of Oscar & Maude (Werner) Bowers. She married Royce A. Potts September 14, 1935 and he deceased April 6,1991. They lived in Kansas with the oilfield at one time. She moved to Illinois when she was 2 years old and lived in the area south of Lawrenceville. There were no children of her marriage so she busied herself by joining several organizations. She and her husband were long time members of the First United Methodist Church in Olney. She was a charter member of the Garden Club, General Federation of Womens Club, Clio Club, Fun Timers Club at First National Bank, Golden Friendship Club and fifty year member of Order of the Eastern Star. Albertia took care of her mother Maude Bowers until her death. She loved to go have afternoon tea with friend Frances Richey and Sunday dinners with Pearl Davis (deceased), Sue Holland, Betty Compton, Margaret Butler (deceased) and Arline Majors (deceased). She is survived by her First Cousin, Ester Mae Kester & family of Tennessee, Second Cousin, Don Hayes & wife Ann & family of Evansville, IN, Second Cousin, Wayne Hayes & wife Judy & family of Portland, OR,Third & Fourth Cousins, Daisey Hodges & family of Lawrenceville, IL, Anna Ray & family of Bridgeport, IL, Lula Belle Thompson & family of Lawrenceville, IL; Harold Holmes & family of Lawrenceville, IL; Garold Holmes & family of Lawrenceville, IL, Edgar Junior Holmes & family of Lawrenceville, IL and also by marriage, Virgil Potts & family of Lawrenceville, IL, Ralph Potts & family of Lawrenceville, IL, Devere Delzel & family of Noble, IL, and Long Time friends, Betty Compton of Olney and Frances Richey of Olney. She will be missed by family and friends she met along the way. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, brother Arnold Bowers, & nephew Wendel Bowers
