Staff members of Kistler-Patterson Funeral Homes are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.
Randy Kistler is the owner and operator of Kistler-Patterson Funeral Homes. He received his associates degree from Kaskaskia College and mortuary degree from Worsham College. He has over 40 years of funeral directing experience. He currently serves as the Richland County Coroner, a position he has been honored to hold since 1988.
Steve is originally from the Utica, New York area and has been a licensed funeral director since 2009. He is a Business graduate of Oswego State University and a Mortuary Science Graduate of Vincennes University. He joined Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney after working in St. Louis as a financial advisor and later in the steel industry. Steve is also a United States Air Force Veteran, having served 14 years as an aircraft crew chief on F-15E and F-16 fighter jets in New York, North Carolina, and Missouri.
For entertainment Steve enjoys playing guitar and learning new instruments as well as spending time with his two boys, Quinn (10) and Graham (8). Steve is a member of the Olney Elks, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a Richland County Deputy Coroner.
Carol served as the Office Manager for many years at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home and retired from her duties in 2012 but still remains a helpful presence in the funeral home. She now spends her free time enjoying her grandchildren and quilting as well as tending to her garden.
Carol and Randy Kistler were married in 1973 and have three children, Rudy, Kate and Emily. She is a native of Ramsey, Illinois and a graduate of Lakeland College. Carol and Randy are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Originally from Olney, Kate is a Business graduate of Eastern Illinois University and later earned her MBA from St. Louis University. After a short time living in St. Louis and working for The Boeing Company, Kate moved back to Olney in 2006 to join her family in the funeral business. She then earned her Mortuary Science degree from Vincennes University and became a licensed funeral director.
In her free time, she enjoys training and competing in endurance triathlon. Kate has two sons, Quinn and Graham. They are members of First Presbyterian Church in Olney.
Jeff joined Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in 1998. He has over forty years funeral experience. Jeff is a Business Management graduate of Eastern Illinois University and a Mortuary Science graduate of Vincennes University. He is a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Jeff has served as a Deputy Coroner of Richland County since 1998. He and his wife Leann are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Olney.
Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Todd and his family moved to Olney in 2011. Todd came to Kistler-Patterson Funeral Homes in August of 2016 and he is currently working on his business degree.
Todd served in the United States Army from 1989-1994 as a Military Police Officer, having been deployed first to Germany and then stationed in Virginia. He and his wife Wendy are members of the Olney Free Methodist Church in Olney. In his spare time, Todd likes to spend time with his two sons, play guitar, and especially enjoys being out taking pictures.
Dick is a Part Time Staff Member, mainly at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home location in Olney. He has been with the Funeral Home for more than ten years.
Dick retired from Baker-Atlas in 2006 after being employed for 45 years. He began as a draftsmen for the company and ended his career as the regional manager at Baker-Atlas.
Gene Hall is the part time Staff Member at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City. Gene experience in Funeral Service goes back to the Easley and Padgett Funeral Home, where he worked for many years. He then worked alongside Dean Cardascio for a number of years at the Cardascio Funeral Home.
Gene Hall is a Clay City native having lived most of his life there, except for his time in the US Navy from 1944-1946. Gene is a valuable asset to the Funeral Home because of this extended knowledge of every family that lives in the surrounding areas.
